Do you know why the official distance of a marathon is exactly 26 miles, 385 yards?
In 1908, the marathon standard was simply 26 miles, but at the Olympic marathon in London this didn't finish opposite the royal box.
So they extended the race by an additional 385 yards so the royal family could have the view of the winners.
And it's been that way ever since.
