The word gymnastics comes from the Greek words which mean 'exercise naked' as seemingly Greek men did not like to wear clothes when they exercised!

Training of top modern gymnasts begins when they are just two of three years old and women are at their peak between 14-18 years old, although men are at their best in their late teens and early twenties.
